Once the initial shock of being diagnosed with cancer is over, the next question most people in this situation ask is “will I loose my hair?”
I’m afraid to tell you that the majority of people who are treated with Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy (to the head) will end up loosing all their hair. This can be very distressing as it a “public announcement” that you are going through a life threatening illness.

PRIVATE IN-HOME WIG CONSULTATION
We have devised a specialist and unique wig shopping service which allows you to shop for your wig in the comfort of your own home. Our stylists are experts at creating the exact style you want.
How it works:
We ask you to email us a photo of you before your illness or a picture of the hair style you want us to replicate. Our expert stylists then build a personal collection of wigs based on the photograph you have provided, paying close attention to the style, colour, high or low lights, texture, and length of the hair. Our expert stylists are trained consultants who will also pay particular attention to your skin tone, eye colour and intensity of your complexion.
We then book a fitting appointment, in the comfort of your home with our stylist. At your fitting appointment, you will try on your preselected wigs and our stylist will be on hand to offer you advice on the wig fit, style, care and optimal colours for your hair and make-up.
Duration: Please allow up to 2 Hours
Consultation Fee: Before your wig fitting appointment, we ask you to pay a consultation fee. The consultation fee is usually deducted from the purchase price if you purchase a wig. Please note Inspirational Image is based in London, but in-home consultations can be arranged anywhere in the UK, subject to travel time and costs.

It is advisable to have your private in-home wig consultation BEFORE you begin your chemotherapy treatment and your hair begins to fall out.

You really don’t need to go through this alone. Our Style Therapy service is a specialist service designed to help you manage the appearance related effects of cancer treatment. Your oncologist and doctors attend to your medical needs but we aim to put you back in control by boosting your self confidence and improving your image. Our passion is to inspire and ignite in you the confidence to fight this disease with style!
How it works:
During your consultation, our expert image consultant will take you through the following:
- Colour Analysis Session – Wearing the right colours for makeup and clothing during this period of your life can have a dramatic affect on the way you look and feel - your skin looks clearer, your appearance much brighter, and the colour of your eyes is enhanced. You will generally radiate the look of a healthier you!
- Alternatives to Hair Session – We take you through the plethora of options available to you when you loose your hair. From wig selection and styling to head coverings and scarf tying. We demonstrate it all giving you the opportunity to ask questions and make informed decisions. We provide a list of retailers and outlets where you can source the items you select.
- Skin Care Routine – We show you how to care for your delicate skin and talk you through the products to use and avoid. We also give professional tips and techniques on how to care for your hands, nails and feet.
- Makeup Extravaganza - The makeup advice focuses on providing you with the tips and techniques to help you recreate your usual look. Our expert image consultant and colour therapist will teach you the skills needed to camouflage any flaws. Loosing your eyebrows and eyelashes can be particularly daunting so we show you how to recreate them paying particular attention to the shape of your face. We will advice you on any products we feel you need to buy to complete your makeup look.
- Style after Mastectomy / Lumpectomy – If you have had a mastectomy or dealing with surgery scar, we talk you through the best silhouettes, cut, clothing styles, and fabric selection for your body shape. We teach you clever tricks for maximising your assets and minimising the flaws. We also discuss undergarments, swim wear and provide you with lists of retailers of where to source the items you require, which are best suited to your style and budget.
